MARINE FORECAST FOR SEAS AROUND CURAÇAO:
.
Synopsis:
Atmospheric conditions will be favorable for some significant clouds to pass
from time to time over our region during the next 24 hours. Some of these clouds
may generate moments of rain on certain parts of our island or around it. It is
also expected that from time to time the wind force may be a little strong
mainly during the day and this will cause the open sea section to become higher.
Weather:
Generally partly cloudy with a chance of a local shower during the morning. Wind
is also expected to increase slightly.
Visibility:
20 to 35 kilometer.
Winds:
Easterly and moderate to fresh; force 4 to 5 (20 to 39 km/h, 11 to 21 knots).
Occasionally higher gusts to strong; force 6 (40 to 50 km/h, 22 to 27 knots).
Seas:
Moderate to locally fairly rough with wave heights between 1 and 2 meters (3 and
6 feet). The highest waves are over the open sea area.
.
Local wind forecast for the next 48 hours:
Easterly and moderate to fresh; force 4 to 5 (20 to 39 km/h, 11 to 21 knots).
Occasionally higher gusts to strong; force 6 (40 to 50 km/h, 22 to 27 knots).
.
Synopsis.....The pressure gradient between the Atlantic ridge and
the Colombian low will continue to support pulsing fresh to
strong trades and rough seas across the south-central Caribbean
through the forecast period. Fresh to strong E winds are
expected in the Gulf of Honduras, mainly at night, through the
end of the week. Moderate to fresh winds and moderate seas are
expected in the eastern Caribbean, while gentle to moderate
winds and slight to moderate seas will prevail elsewhere.
