MARINE FORECAST FOR SEAS AROUND CURAÇAO:

CODE YELLOW: A CAUTIONARY STATEMENT FOR ROUGH SEAS IS IN EFFECT FOR NORTHERN
COASTAL SECTIONS OF CURAÇAO
.

Synopsis:
Atmospheric conditions will continue to inhibit significant cloud development
with rain activity and promote a light to gentle breeze over our region during
the next 24 hours. However, a temporary increase in clouds could lead to a light
rain shower during the next 24 hours. Moreover,sea conditions along the northern
and western coast of our island are expected to become rough due to swell during
tomorrow.

Weather:
Generally partly cloudy with a chance of a brief local shower with warm feeling
during daytime.

Visibility:
25 to 40 kilometer.

Winds:
Mainly between north and east direction and a generally light breeze; force 2 to
3 (7 to 19 km/h, 4 to 10 knots).

Seas:
Overall slight with wave heights of less than 1 meter (3 feet). Becoming quite
rough with wave heights of more than 1.5 meter (5 feet) due to northerly swells
along the northern and western coast.

Northeast and light to moderate breeze; force 2 to 4 (7 to 30 km/h, 41 to 16
knots).

Synopsis...A cold front currently moving into the southeast Gulf of Mexico will move into the Yucatan Channel early today.
Fresh to strong winds and rough seas will follow the front across the northwest Caribbean today and tonight
as the front reaches from eastern Cuba to the Gulf of Honduras by early Fri. The winds and
seas will diminish late Fri while the front weakens. High pressure building north of the region in the wake of the front
will support fresh to strong NE winds in the lee of western Cuba and across the Windward Passage Fri night.
These winds and seas will diminish Sat, but strong winds and rough seas will pulse off the coast of Colombia
and the southern coast of Hispaniola Sat and Sun as the high pressure settles north of the area east of the Bahamas.
