MARINE FORECAST FOR SEAS AROUND CURAĆAO:

Synopsis:
Although atmospheric conditions are slightly favorable for significant clouds to
continue passing through our region, no significant precipitation is expected
during much of the day on our island. In addition, the strength of the wind will
vary between weak and moderate, fostering possible feelings of heat. Also, fine
Sahara dust will keep visibility slightly reduced in our area over the next one
to two days.
Weather:
Light to partly cloudy with slightly reduced visibility and no significant
precipitation is expected.
Visibility:
10 to 20 kilometer in hazy condition.
Winds:
East to northeast and gentle to moderate; force 3 to 4 (12 to 30 km/h, 7 to 16
knots). Occasionally, fresh in gusts; force 5 (31 to 39 km/h, 17 to 21 knots).
Seas:
Slight to moderate with wave heights between 0.5 and 1.5 meter (2 and 5 feet).

Synopsis.....Tropical Storm Erin was near 16.3N 46.6W at 11 PM EDT,
and is moving west at 14 kt. Maximum sustained winds are 45 kt
with gusts to 55 kt, and the minimum central pressure is 1002 mb.
Erin will move to 16.5N 48.8W during the morning, 17.2N 51.8W during the
evening, then strengthen to a hurricane near 18.0N 54.9W Fri
morning. Hurricane Erin will be near 18.9N 57.8W Fri evening,
19.8N 60.6W Sat morning, and 20.6N 62.9W Sat evening. Erin will
change little in intensity as it moves to the north of Puerto
Rico late Sun. Elsewhere, strong winds and rough seas will
continue offshore Colombia and Venezuela through today due to a
tight pressure gradient, before diminishing Thu night.
