Weather:
, 05:00 l.t. (09:00 UTC).
CODE YELLOW: A CAUTIONARY STATEMENT FOR ROUGH SEAS IS IN EFFECT.
Weather: Partly cloudy in general, somewhat hazy and occasionally breezy. A
brief isolated shower will be possible near noon. Tonight, becoming mostly
cloudy with isolated showers from time to time into the day.
Forecast high will be 31ºC, and the low will be 27ºC.
Sunrise will occur at 06:13 and sunset at 19:03.
Winds:
Easterly and moderate to fresh; force 4 to 5 (20 to 39 km/h, 11 to 21
knots). Occasionally strong to near gale in gusts; force 6 to 7 (40 to 61 km/h,
22 to 33 knots).
Synopsis:
A weak disturbance over the region is exiting the area of our island,
while patches of moisture within breezy trades could bring a few quick moving
showers over sections of the island during the first part of the day. A
transition to an unstable weather pattern is expected later today, ahead of a
tropical wave foreseen to traverse the area during the night of Monday into
Tuesday and consequently heighten the chances of some showers. Besides, the
local seas will remain fairly rough through parts of today, due to an on-going
strong wind event.
Sea conditions:
Moderate to locally quite rough with wave heights of 1.5 to 2.5
meter (4 to 8 feet). The highest waves are mainly located north and east of the
island. Mariners and swimmers should take this into account (Code yellow) and
not to venture far from the coast.
Significant tropical weather systems:
None.
Special features:
None.
Outlook until Tuesday morning:
Increasing cloudiness with showers in the after
night through morning and less breezy. At times with a local thunderstorm
possible.
