STATEMENT FOR ROUGH SEAS IS IN EFFECT FOR NORTHERN AND
EASTERN COASTAL SECTIONS OF CURAÇAO.
Weather: Partly cloudy, hazy sky with breezy conditions and generally dry.
Forecast high will be 32ºC, and the low will be 27ºC.
Sunrise will occur at 06:10 and sunset at 18:58.
Winds:
Easterly and moderate to fresh: force 4 to 5 (20 to 39 km/h, 11 to 21
knots). Occasionally higher gusts, strong to near gale; force 6 to 7 (40 to 61
km/h, 22 to 33 knots).
Synopsis:
Along with persistent easterly winds, the Saharan dust currently
remains over our area. Visibility may be reduced during the next 24 hours and
allergy symptoms may occur. Sea conditions are additionally expected to be rough
due to occasionally strong winds. Furthermore, generally dry conditions are
expected, because of atmospheric conditions where significant cloud formation is
inhibited.
Sea conditions:
Moderate to quite rough with wave heights of 1.5 to 2.5 meter (4
to 8 feet). The highest wave action will be over the northern and eastern
exposed sea area. It is highly advised that sailors use caution and avoid from
sailing far from the coast. As a result, a precautionary statement for seas
(code yellow) is in effect.
