CODE YELLOW: A CAUTIONARY STATEMENT FOR EXCESSIVE SAHARAN DUST IS IN EFFECT FOR
CURAÇAO.
Weather: Clear to partly cloudy sky and hazy. Winds will continue somewhat
strong and mainly tomorrow in the day with a slight chance of an isolated
shower.
Forecast high will be 32ºC, and the low will be 27ºC.
Sunrise will occur at 06:11 and sunset at 19:00.
Winds:
Easterly and moderate to fresh; force 4 to 5 (20 to 39 km/h, 12 to 21
knots). Occasionally strong in gusts; force 6 (40 to 50 km/h, 22 to 27 knots).
Less strong in the early morning.
Synopsis:
Carried within easterly winds, fine dust from the Sahara will continue
present over our area. Air quality will stay poor for the next 24 hours and
there may be some health concerns for a number of people who are unusually
sensitive to air pollution. Therefore, a cautionary statement for excessive
Saharan dust (code yellow) is in effect. Furthermore, small craft operators are
advised to exercise caution, because of strong winds, reduced visibility and
rough seas.
Sea conditions:
Moderate with wave heights of 1.5 to 2 meters (4 to 7 feet). The
highest wave action is in general over the exposed seas.
