Weather:
Partly to temporarily mostly cloudy with a chance of a few local
showers. The possibility of thunder and lightning will not be excluded. It will
also feel a little warm during the day.
Forecast high will be 33ºC, and the low will be 27ºC.
Sunrise will occur at 06:25 and sunset at 18:55.
Winds:
Varying between northeast to southeast and light to moderate; force 2 to
4 (7 to 30 km/h, 4 to 16 knots). During heavier showers, occasional gusts fresh
to strong; force 5 to 6 (31 to 50 km/h, 17 to 27 knots).
Synopsis:
During the next 24 hours an increase in humidity is anticipated in our
area generating significant clouds in our region with the possibility of some
showers on certain parts of our island and surroundings. Due to the unstable
atmospheric condition, the possibility of development of thunder and lightning
is not excluded as well. In addition, wind is expected to be light to moderate
in our region, although this may increase during heavier showers and may cause
waves to become higher.
Sea conditions:
Slight to moderate with wave heights between 0.5 and 1.5 meter
(2 and 4 feet). Higher wave action during showers.
Significant tropical weather systems:
Hurricane Erin, now category 2 is located
about 400 kilometers east of the islands in the northeastern Caribbean and is
expected to intensify into a major hurricane during this weekend. Erin will
continue to move in a west northwest direction and will pass north of the
islands during today. Hurricane Erin will not be a threat to Curaçao.
