East to southeast and light to moderate; force 2 to 4 (7 to 30 km/h, 4 to 16 knots). Mainly in and around heavier showers, occasional gusts fresh to strong; force 5 to 6 (31 to 50 km/h, 17 to 27 knots). Lighter at times.

Synopsis:
Overall conditions across the region will be clear to partly cloudy, as a relatively dry environment continues to prevail into the weekend. Yet, an increase in moisture over the area during the next 24 hours could trigger periods of unsettled weather condition tonight through tomorrow over parts of the island. Besides, a light to moderate wind flow is expected to persist over and around the island. Albeit, winds and waves could heighten in heavier rain showers.

Sea conditions:
Slight to moderate with wave heights between 0.5 and 1.5 meter (2 and 4 feet). Higher wave action in or near showers.

Significant tropical weather systems:
Tropical Storm Erin strengthened into a hurricane today, located this evening at about 600 kilometer east of the northern Leeward Islands. The hurricane is moving west-northwest and will pass near or just north of the northern Leeward islands on Saturday. The cyclone will not be a threat to Curaçao.
