Forecast

Weather Forecast for Curaçao and surroundings valid until Wednesday evening 18:00 l.t., August 20, 2025.

Issued:
Tuesday August 19, 2025 17:50 l.t. (21:50 UTC).

Weather:
Clear to partly cloudy and somewhat warm. Forecast high will be 33ºC, and the low will be 28ºC. Sunrise will occur at 06:25 and sunset at 18:54.

Winds:
East to southeast and gentle to moderate; force 3 to 4 (12 to 30 km/h, 7 to 16 knots). A few occasional gusts to fresh; force 5 (31 to 39 km/h, 17 to 21 knots).

Synopsis:
The prevailing weather conditions over our region will be generally clear to partly cloudy as a high pressure system along with a relatively dry and warm southeasterly air stream is foreseen to persist during the next several days. A weak tropical wave moving over the eastern Caribbean today could still generate a few clouds and a light isolated shower during the daylight hours on Wednesday.

Sea conditions:
Tranquil to moderate with wave heights between 0.5 and 1.5 meter (2 and 4 feet).

Significant tropical weather systems:
Erin continues as a hurricane, currently tracking north-northwestward over the western section of the Atlantic Ocean. This tropical system poses no direct threat to the ABC Islands. Another tropical disturbance, located over the Central Tropical Atlantic, has some potential for development and a cyclone could form toward the end of the week or in the weekend.

Special features:
Today at precisely 12:38 p.m. local time, the sun was positioned directly overhead Curaçao, reaching its zenith. This alignment resulted earlier today in the highest possible solar radiation for the island. Any cloud cover present at that moment may have slightly reduce the intensity of sunlight. This phenomenon occurs twice annually, with the next occurrence expected on April 21, 2026.

Outlook until Thursday evening:
Partly cloudy with sunny periods and an overall dry weather. A plume of Saharan dust is expected to reduce visibility over the island and marine area.

Forecaster:
Coffie

The next weather forecast will be issued on Wednesday 05:00 l.t. (09:00 UTC).
