Synopsis:
A mid-level ridge is currently positioned over the ABC Islands,
causing a subsidence pattern that will limit cloud development over the next 24
hours. As a result, dry and stable atmospheric conditions are expected to
prevail, although an occasional early morning shower may occur. Additionally, a
thin layer of Saharan dust transported across the Atlantic will contribute to
hazy skies, reduced visibility, and a temporary decline in air quality across
the region.
Sea conditions:
Slight to moderate with wave heights between 0.5 and 1.5 meter
(2 and 5 feet).
Significant tropical weather systems:
As of early this morning, Tropical Storm
Erin was located over the central Tropical Atlantic and is tracking westward.
Conditions are favorable for gradual intensification, and Erin is expected to
strengthen into a hurricane later this week. The system is forecast to pass
north of the northern Leeward Islands in the coming days. Based on current
projections, Tropical Storm Erin poses no threat to Curaçao.
